UCC Ultimate Goes Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness
03/10/2018 | The ladies of UCC Ultimate wear pink at training to help spread awareness!
Breast cancer is a huge and current health issue in women’s health.
In Ireland, 2890 new cases of breast cancer are diagnosed each year. 1 in 9 women will develop breast cancer in the course of their lifetime. And it doesn’t just affect women, commonly forgotten are the proportion of men who will also get the disease – about 1 in 1000 in fact.*
We at UCC Ultimate think it’s important to stay informed and conscious of our health, so we decided to wear pink to ladies training to help raise awareness on the issue. This is also in conjunction with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October) and Cork Pink Week (1st-7th October 2018).
